David's April Update

Hello, Friends!

    Wherever God's presence goes, everything is blessed. Let's recap some things God has been in this month. And don't forget to read my important announcement!

An Important Announcement


    As some of you may already know, this semester is my final semester on Focus staff as a campus pastor. After May, I'll move on into the workforce, looking to become an Actuary. I want to thank all of you for being with me, supporting me financially and in prayer this year and the previous two years of my time on Focus staff. I love doing campus ministry! I'll definitely miss it, and I also look forward to the ministry that God is welcoming me into as I move on. 
    I'll be contacting each of you that give financially to ask if you'd be interested in transferring your giving to another Focus staff person. If you are passionate about college students coming to know God, please keep supporting another pastor in my very favorite campus ministry.

Outreach

    


Top: some guys from my small group watch the eclipse with me at the parking garage on campus. Shayna and Alex came too.

Middle: a chalkboard that we used during one outreach to ask students about Jesus' parables. I was surprised how many new students were interested and took a crack at them.

Bottom: the group of Chi Alpha students from Bellvue, Washington that came down during their spring break to do outreach at Collin. That was so sweet of them! They helped connect countless Collin students to FOCUS and more importantly, to God.

Thursday Night Fellowship


    We had our last regular TNF last Thursday, wrapping up our series on Mark. It's so cool that we read all of Mark during the semester at our large fellowship meetings. Now, our students are looking forward to Summer TNF, where they will come together with students from all of the FOCUS campuses around the DFW area.

It doesn't exist.     That's right, November's over, so now it's time for my monthly ministry update! If you've read (or just looked at the pretty pictures in) several of my update blogs, welcome back! It's time for my recap blog for August. Thanks so much for being part of God's blessing me, and God's blessing the students on campus. New School Year: Alex wanted an awkward "first day of class" picture, and whether you wanted it or not, now you get it too. This semester, I'm taking just one class (Intro to Humanities) in order to be considered a student and get access to areas like the campus gym and campus events. I chose this humanities class based off the recommendation of one of Focus' student leaders, who told me it's a great class to openly discuss religion.
